...Women diagnosed with breast cancer experience many different feelings - shock, disbelief, anger, sadness, fear, grief, personal loss, despair, loneliness, regret, and guilt. A current experience may trigger memories of the surgery or treatment that occurred months or years in the past. Sometimes these feelings are so intense that women feel at a loss as to what to do. These feelings are not always present, they can come and go, alternating with feelings of great personal strength. Some women find it easy to share their feelings, some do not. Some women have partners, family, or friends who provide some support, some do not. Whatever the situation, being part of a group of other women who have had similar experience is one way to start and maintain the healing process.
